Transform Your Connection with Nature: A Guide to Sacred Water Rituals and Ceremonies<\/h1>\n

World Water Day is celebrated annually on March 22nd to raise awareness of the 2.2 billion people living without access to safe water. It’s the perfect time to explore water rituals. This year, the theme ‘Leveraging Water for Peace’ \u00a0immediately rang true for my journey.<\/p>\n

In the past year, I\u2019ve lived\u00a0without<\/u> an unlimited supply of running water for the first time. Water is a scarce resource on our ranch out west. And we don\u2019t have a hook-up for clean water to our tiny home.<\/p>\n

We manually collect it in 10-gallon jugs from a natural spring 5 miles away. Then,\u00a0my husband carries it to our home up the side of a mountain<\/a>. We stand with it until it\u2019s fed into our water tank system.\ud83d\ude43<\/p>\n

\n(Elated after getting better hand carriers and figuring out how to stack my water jugs so they\u2019d gravity-fill)<\/em><\/p>\n

As you might imagine, I am hyper-aware of how much water I use to brush my teeth, wash dishes, and shower. I literally measured it so I could be more thoughtful about respectfully conserving water and the energy it takes to have it.<\/p>\n

Now, I\u2019m so much more mindful. I slow down and feel grateful to reconnect to nature\u2019s flow. I appreciate water in a way I completely took for granted before.\u2763\ufe0f<\/p>\n

A long shower or a hot bath are something I now cherish just as much as time in a natural hot spring as part of my water rituals. When your access to water shifts, you find new ways to appreciate how much we depend on water. And you are more mindful of your water rituals.<\/p>\n

Water is the element of power.<\/h2>\n

From babbling brooks to deadly tsunamis, water has the power to create life or take it away. Water is a requirement for your existence.<\/p>\n

Since you\u2019re made of about 60 – 70% water, when you honor water, you honor the qualities of water in yourself.\u00a0Pretty, cool right?<\/em><\/p>\n

Connecting with water is also a great way to activate the values of Unity with Nature<\/a> and Spirituality. Surprisingly, during our recent analysis of 2,532 people who took our\u00a0core values quiz<\/a>, only about a third had a core value of Unity with Nature (29%) or Spiritual Life (33%).<\/p>\n

And I think that\u2019s purely because most people haven\u2019t been exposed, encouraged, or invited to connect with nature and the innate spirituality that exists within that connection.\ud83e\uddd0<\/p>\n

So here\u2019s a way to super charge your relationship to water and activate the values of Unity with Nature and Spiritual Life with a sacred Water Ceremony practice. Some elements were learned as a student of The Foundation for Shamanic Studies, and others have been added and adapted based on my personal process. As always, I invite you to\u00a0make it your own<\/u>.<\/p>\n

\u2728\ud83c\udf0aWater Ceremony Ritual\ud83c\udf0a\u2728<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\ud83e\uddedStep 1: Decide on Location.<\/strong>\u00a0Where would you like to commune with water?<\/em>\u00a0Personally, I love to go out into nature. I\u2019ve done ceremonies with ponds, lakes, streams, oceans, and rivers. Each is unique and beautiful to gain wisdom from. Meet yourself where you are, not where you want to be.<\/p>\n

\u270d\ufe0fStep 2: Reflect.<\/strong>\u00a0What do you want to release that\u2019s taking your power from you?<\/em>\u00a0Where would you like to step into your power?<\/em> You can simply reflect on this in your mind while you sit by the water, or can write it down in a journal.\u00a0\ud83d\udca6Bonus: You can even write on water-soluble paper that instantly degrades when it hits the water.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udd17Step 3: Connect.<\/strong>\u00a0Find something in nature, like a fallen leaf or twig. Give that item the full meaning of your reflection on what\u2019s taking your power and where you are going to regain it. (If you have biodegradable paper with your reflection, use that here instead.)<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udf43Step 4: Release.<\/strong>\u00a0With appreciation in your heart, let go of whatever you chose from step 3 into the water. Observe it as it becomes a part of the water you released it to.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udc41\ufe0fStep 5: Listen and Look.<\/strong>\u00a0Get still and listen to the sound of the water. What are the loudest and softest noises you can hear?<\/p>\n

Then, look at its qualities. What can you see that makes water so very special? How do those qualities exist within you? Slow down and tune in to what the water has to teach you.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\ude4fStep 6: Share Gratitude.<\/strong>\u00a0Thank the water for allowing you to be in ceremony together. For me, that looks like a silent bow with my hands in prayer position over my heart or third eye. Have gratitude for the wisdom you gained and what you released back into nature.<\/p>\n

Incorporating Water Rituals into your life can be a powerful way to connect with nature, reflect on your journey, and release what no longer serves you.<\/h3>\n

Remember to approach it with an open heart and mind, allowing yourself to immerse in the experience fully. Trust that the water holds wisdom and healing energy to support you along the way.<\/p>\n
