How Practicing Gratitude Can Shift Fear Into Abundance<\/h1>\n

When you are grateful, you can\u2019t be fearful or angry. It is literally impossible. Your brain won\u2019t allow you to do it. So it is one of the best ways to shift out of fear and scarcity and into abundance and presence.<\/p>\n

Which is something I had to practice last week when our horses got out and we didn\u2019t know where they were\u2026<\/p>\n

Picture this: it\u2019s a lovely Sunday afternoon, and after a long week of doing, MaryBeth and I decide to relax and watch a movie.<\/p>\n

Our horses were out in their grazing area enjoying some fresh grass, which they do daily.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Everyone was at peace. (MaryBeth even fell asleep during the movie.)<\/p>\n

As I am watching, I hear the horses galloping around, which is something they do. They love to play and frolic.<\/p>\n

But my intuition told me that something might be up\u2026<\/p>\n

I look down at their grazing area, and I don\u2019t see them. This can happen because there are some trees and valleys.<\/p>\n

So I go back to watching the movie.<\/p>\n

Then my intuition speaks up again\u2026<\/p>\n

So, I head down to the area, but I don\u2019t see them. Then, I notice the fence is down, and they’ve busted through.<\/p>\n

In the past, when they got out, Ollie (our big fancy fjord) would typically be just outside the grazing area, eating more grass.<\/p>\n

And Norby (our little mustang) would still be inside the area and let us know Ollie got out.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

But this time, they were both nowhere to be seen.<\/p>\n

So I grab their lead ropes and halters and go to find them. We had been taking them for walks to the back of the property to an area they like to graze, so I go there first.<\/p>\n

They aren\u2019t there\u2026<\/p>\n

Then my intuition speaks again, and I know exactly where they are. You see, when we take them to this grazing area, they always look up at the mountain.<\/p>\n

I knew where I needed to go\u2026<\/p>\n

So I take off straight up. As I get to the top, I see our two boys looking at me like, \u201cHey, Dad, fancy seeing you here.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I walk right up to them, put their halters on with no issues, and we start our way down the mountain.<\/p>\n

Boy, was that an adventure\u2026<\/p>\n

Although I am very skilled at climbing and descending steep mountains, I had never done that before with two 1,000+ pound horses behind me.<\/p>\n

So I again trusted my intuition, took it slow, focused on being calm, and went back and forth down the mountain instead of straight down.<\/p>\n

We made it down safely.<\/p>\n

MaryBeth met me at the bottom, and we started to walk them back to their paddock together. Once I began to feel a bit of relief, MaryBeth got hit with a wave of extreme sickness. All the color left her face, falling to the ground in agony from intense nausea and an upset stomach.<\/p>\n

Talk about bad timing.<\/p>\n

So I had to take them both back.<\/p>\n

As I started walking them both back, Norby\u2019s halter fell off, and this time he decided to enjoy his freedom a little more and started running around.<\/p>\n

And then Ollie got loose\u2026<\/p>\n

I did my best to stay calm and tap into my intuition again.<\/p>\n

I knew I couldn\u2019t run after them; I would never win that race. But I did know that they love to eat. So I waited for them to find a good grazing spot.<\/p>\n

Ollie had his halter and lead rope on, so he was easy to get. But Norby, our little wild one, was still not so sure. However, after a bit of patience and MaryBeth regaining her strength, she was able to get his halter back on. Then I walked them both straight back to their paddock with no issues.<\/p>\n

It was quite the experience and opportunity to observe my inner dialogue. There were so many times during this and after that, my limiting beliefs and negative thoughts were strong.<\/p>\n

\u201cAm I going to find them?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat if they got hurt?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cAre they going to run me over going down the mountain?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat if they won\u2019t let me put the halter on?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cAre they going to try to break out again?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cDo I have any idea what I am doing?\u201d <\/em>And that is why focusing on gratitude is so important.<\/p>\n
